Horizons Unlimited

Help stock shelves and unload food shipments for the DIW food shelf. Seasonally, the food shelf distributes holiday meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas and winter coat and toys for children at Christmas. Contact Maren Hardy at 612-279-6343.

Youth Leadership Development Program

Help American Indian youth from 7-17 years old with reading, math and homework. Contact Chiffon Potter at 612-279-6371.

Other volunteer opportunities include:

  • Adults to mentor American Indian teens.
  • Family advocates to help American Indian women and children experiencing violence at home.
  • Organizers of food drives to benefit the food shelf, with a special emphasis on food for diabetics.
  • Experienced parents to mentor American Indian teen mothers and fathers.
